Echo Hill Outdoor Education
This week our Upper Elem and Middle School students have traveled to Echo Hill Outdoor Education Center on the eastern shore of Maryland in Worton. The 70-acre campus has access to open fields, hardwood forests, freshwater marshes, and a mile of sandy beach providing the ideal outdoor laboratories for ecological studies and nature conservancy. Throughout their stay at Echo Hill, students learn more about the wonders of nature, the value of history, and the diversity of individual qualities. While at Echo Hill the students’ curriculum covers Chesapeake Bay Studies, Survival and Adventure, and Swamp Ecology. The Echo Hill mission closely aligns with Bay Montessori’s in that children are challenged to learn in a safe and supportive environment with the freedom to think, question, and express themselves.
