Financial Assistance
Purpose of Financial Assistance
Bay Montessori School recognizes the value and cost of an independent school education and strives to make our Montessori education available to the widest range of students. Financial aid is available to ensure that children have the opportunity to attend Bay regardless of the family’s financial resources. The following programs are available for financial aid :
- PrePrimary
- Primary
- Lower Elementary
- Upper Elementary
How to apply
For those who may seek financial aid, we are now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year. The process begins with an online application to Tuition Aid Data Services (TADS), a company that conducts need assessments for families seeking financial aid.
Our partner code is 200530.
The processing fee, payable to TADS, is $55. Click on the image below for the TADS application and a worksheet to help families organize their financial information.
In addition to submitting the online application, families must send a copy of their W-2 forms and federal and state income tax returns directly to TADS. These tax documents and the report from TADS are maintained in a confidential financial aid application file. Once the file is complete (all reports and forms), the Bay Financial Aid Committee will review the TADS report and decide on awards of aid for each child. The submission deadline is April 30,2024
If you have any questions during the process, you may reach TADS at 800-344-8328, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Central Time. They are also available through live chat on their website https://sssandtadsfa.force.com/familyportal/FamilyHelp and email at sss@communitybrands.com.
The Bay Montessori Financial Assistance Policy
Here are the key provisions of the Bay policy:
-
Financial aid is awarded without regard to race, religion, gender, ethnicity, physical difference, sexual orientation or academic ability on an annual basis. Families must reapply for every year in which aid is requested.
-
In order to be considered for assistance, families must complete the financial aid application from TADS, and must supply all requested information and supporting documentation. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
-
The school allocates a percentage of tuition revenue for funding financial aid awards of varying amounts.
-
If there is any evidence that a family knowingly withheld or misrepresented information in the financial aid process, the award will be eliminated and no further awards will be made in the future.
-
The financial aid committee will consist of the Head of School, the Board and a teacher representative. The committee keeps all financial information confidential.
-
The school strives to support as many families as possible each year. The following objectives are considered when making awards:
-
Fill seats with families who support the school’s mission, and are likely to complete the program
-
Allow current children to remain in the school
-
Allow accepted siblings of current families to enroll in the school
-
Increase diversity in the school
-
Increase enrollment in a particular program or to achieve enrollment balance
-
Fill seats with families who meet their financial obligations
